The Chinese windmill palm Trachycarpus, which - as its name suggests - originally comes from Asia, is a real survivor. Occasionally, the palm tree can even be found at heights of up to 2,400 metres in the Himalayas. In the meantime, the plant has also become established in Europe due to its robustness and adaptability. You can find them both on the Mediterranean coast and in the cooler regions of Great Britain. With its large palm fronds and straight, slender trunk, the evergreen fan palm makes an impressive appearance. The windmill palm is preferably bright all year round, but does not tolerate direct sunlight.
