Both wire and string can be passed through the hole in the top to securely attach the piece. Both the plate of the suction cup and the base (e.g. car bonnet) must be clean, dry and free of grease, otherwise the holding force of the vacuum suction cup cannot be guaranteed. For example, freshly polished car paint can impair the holding force of the vacuum suction cup. The flower arrangement can be removed from the base without any problems if the suction plate is lifted slightly at the edge with the fingertip. This allows air to flow into the vacuum and the suction cup detaches easily from the base.
