Häberli Raisin Tree - Hovenia Dulcis "Canela" - Height approx. 140 cm, pot-Ø 23 cm
-
Item number NEW-1205
The raisin tree Canela is a slow growing tree, which blooms only in July, when many other fruit trees have already faded. Its flowers are therefore particularly popular with bees and other insects. From September onwards, fruits develop from the blossoms on fruit stalks. These spicy-sweet tasting stalks are edible and have an aroma similar to raisins. They can be eaten raw, cooked or dried. They can also be used very well to sweeten or flavor cereals, ice cream or cakes (similar to cinnamon sugar). The raisin tree can grow up to 10 m tall, but can also be grown as a small 2 m tall shrub.
