Hawaiian vulcan palm - Brighamia - height ca. 40 cm, pot-Ø 12 cm
Item number 100W051
Although the name suggests it, the Hawaiian vulcan palm (Brighamia insignis) is not a palm tree. It belongs to the bellflower family (Campanulaceae) and is actually a succulent plant. It originally comes from Hawaii, where it grows in crevices and on basalt cliffs near the sea. Unfortunately, its population in nature is declining, which is why this highly decorative indoor plant is hard to come by. The Vulcan palm tree maintains a dormant phase over the summer, during which it sheds its leaves.
