The Philodendron, also known as tree friend, belongs to the genus Tribus Philodendreae and is a climbing plant. The approximately 250 species of Philodendron are native to the tropical rainforests of Florida, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and tropical South America, where they grow as lianas in the tops of tall trees. Their air-purifying properties make them excellent for living spaces. The leaves of this unique plant are thick, leathery and vibrantly colored and have a striking, interesting-looking leaf shape.
