Der Lorbeer-Schneeball zählt zu den Laubgehölzen und ist ein immergrünes Schmuckstück, selbst in der kühlen und winterlichen Jahreszeit. Auch seine enorm lange Blütezeit zählt zu den herrlichen Vorzügen. Er blüht von November bis in den April. Nach der Blüte zeigt sich an dem Strauch ein wunderschöner Fruchtschmuck. Dieser dient ausschließlich der Optik und Dekoration, da die Früchte für den Menschen ungenießbar sind.
