Die Geigenfeige - auch Ficus lyrata genannt - verdankt ihren Namen den überaus großen, dunkelgrünen, glänzenden Blättern, die dem Korpus einer Geige ähneln. Sie gehört zur Familie der Maulbeergewächse (Mauraceae) und ist vor allem wegen ihrer sehr unproblematischen Kultur beliebt. Auch in Hydrokultur fühlt sie sich wohl. Sie ist sehr pflegeleicht und benötigt nicht viel Wasser. Die trendige Pflanze bevorzugt einen hellen oder halbschattigen Standort. Die Sorte 'Bambino Clump' ist aufgrund seines etwas kompakteren Wuchses, der kleineren Blätter und der vor allem in Wohnungen oder Zimmern mit weniger Platz sehr beliebt. Die Sorte begeistert außerdem durch den dichteren Blattwuchs.
